Friday night I was honored to capture and cover the the 385th Military Police Battalion military ball. My favorite part of any ball is the grog and the ceremony that goes along with it. The grog is any of a variety of alcoholic beverages (although the MPs had a non-alcoholic one as well).
Did you know that the word originally referred to a drink made with water and rum, which British Vice admiral Edward Vernon introduced into the naval squadron he commanded in the West Indies on 21 August 1740. Vernon wore a coat of grogram cloth and was nicknamed Old Grogram or Old Grog.
I can’t wait to get all the beautiful couples their portraits out to them! While the editing begins here’s a few fun shots from the ball and their grog ceremony!
