This week was full of competition at a very high and international level, both with the Professional Photographers of America and with Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, or so fondly called, PPA & WPPI. I titled in both organizations with this portrait of model boy Nathan. Inspired by a favorite show of mine, the Peaky Blinders, this “Tiny Bloke” as I so fondly call him not only scored enough to merit in PPA and go to their General Loan level but it also received a Silver in WPPI’s 1/2 of the year competition. With that silver, I also received enough points to earn my Associates title with WPPI. There is so much more ahead of me and so much more that I want to earn, and my next goal is a Gold in WPPI’s 2nd half of the year competition. I did enter a few other portraits that did not place, but I am noticing a consistent rise in the general average of my scores and I am finally coming into my own as far as style and look of my work.
I love photography and I can’t wait to see what is in store for me in the next few months and future competitions!
