My Motherhood Program

Motherhood images can be rewarding but challenging. From the moment a woman learns she is pregnant, up until she sends her baby away to college, any image can be considered a motherhood moment. My program focuses on the beginning of this journey, to include maternity, birth, fresh 48, newborn and breastfeeding portraits. We will discuss how to capture beautiful maternity portraits using custom gowns from Sew Trendy Accessories and how to include the entire family into the portrait session. We will cover the intimate moments of a birth story, capturing that very first breath of new life and those most precious first moments as a family or maybe the fresh 48 images that are captured in the first 48 hours of life. I will walk you through what images are expected, the best place to get situated in the hospital room and what images are preferred from this monumental event. Finally, we will discuss newborn portraits, basic images and then into the more complicated composites. Breastfeeding images can be taken at a newborn session, and I can teach you how to work them into your sessions. After we discuss the portrait sessions themselves, I’ll give a brief overview of what and how to sell products from these moments and sessions. We will talk about folio boxes, memory albums, and prints. We will also discuss vendors and vendor relationships, props and gear.  You will walk away from your time with me ready to tackle everything that is included in the motherhood journey.

Newborn Composite Hands-on Workshop

The newest style of newborn photography is using a digital backdrop and offering a fine art digital newborn composited image. The only limitation for us as photographers at this point in our imagination and our prop collection. I bring everything we need to create some amazing fine art images that clients will love. Through my vendor support, we will capture both the digital background, as well as the newborn image and then spend the afternoon learning the basics behind a newborn composited image. We learn newborn safety and how to ensure that you can get those adorable images without baby ever being put in a compromising situation. We will learn how to walk through the thought process needed to create the image as well as the conversations to have with clients to ensure that all images are what the client would want to have in their home. We will finish with how to sell those images to clients. Typically this program runs 7 to 8 hours.
