I am so many things: a wife and a mother, a veteran and a military spouse, a farmer, a college student, and a gardener. But I am also a photographer with a deep-seated passion for our military and its families. Many of my clients are military for portrait work and event coverage. I have had the honor of working with high-level members of our military and even Vice President Mike Pence and his wife! In the studio, I have worked with newborn babies as small as 3 lbs and some up to 11 lbs at birth! I have worked with single newborns, twins, triplets, and yes... even quads! I am certified in newborn safety, licensed, insured, published, award-winning, and sponsored by some fantastic and dedicated companies within the photography community.
You'll find that I love my job, the talent that I've been given, and my ability to be a baby whisperer. I am easy to work with and understand intimately the challenges that we military families make, especially with scheduling and the constant moving. I am constantly educating, practicing, testing, growing, and challenging my skills and the ability to produce not just great images but award-winning photos. My ultimate goal is for you and your family to have pictures you can treasure for generations. As a military veteran and spouse, I understand the constant coming and going of the “new to this place” feelings and the need to document all the special moments for family members living far away.
I am honored and humbled to have been published in more articles, magazines, podcasts, and blogs than I can even count. Among hundreds of international publications, my photography has been shared on Facebook over 3.5 million times and featured in Vanity Fair, Vogue, Parents, SELF Magazine, The Huffington Post, Time Magazine, and many more. The Cosmopolitan magazine even called my work “stunning” and “powerful” and noted that my work caused “the internet to lose its collective mind.” I was also a finalist in Ron Howard’s Project Imaginat10n contest early on in my career in 2012. I also have images in the full-feature documentary, Homecoming The Film, directed and produced by the beautiful Roxanne Messina Captor. In 2018, my now-viral breastfeeding image was dominantly shared in the US Army Women’s Museum in Fort Gregg-Adams (formerly known as Fort Lee, VA), and it took up an entire wall in the museum.
As a massive advocate for print competition and schooling, the career field continually needs a high level of growth to achieve greatness. I am a New York Institute of Photography graduate with an Associate's title with WPPI. In 2020, I received my craftsman degree with PPA, and in 2023, I received my Master Photographer with them as well. I have earned numerous awards from organizations such as the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI), the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), The National Association of Professional Child Photographers (NAPCP), and the Army community. Competition is a great way to grow, and I will continue competing at every level possible. I have also found a passion for speaking and teaching other photographers throughout the United States, from California to Boston and numerous locations in between!
Tamron, 17hats, and Spider Holster trusted me enough to title me as one of their ambassadors, and I am honored to have taken on that title. I am also honored to work with other sponsors and vendors such as Bay Photo, Exposure, Off My Hooks, and Pitter-Pats Creations. Without my sponsors, I could not work, survive, or create. They are the backbone of my business, and I am so happy that they are my support and friends. My vendors help me create the magic that we make in the studio.
It's not all work, as I enjoy the quiet of play. When I'm not working (rarely), I enjoy running our small homestead, spending time with our Meishan pig herd, collecting eggs, and making my family fantastic food from our hard work on our farm. I have three children; my youngest recently graduated from high school, so no more "littles" for me. That is why I enjoy capturing all the new special moments for families. I know firsthand how fast little ones can grow up and how important it is to capture all the special moments of their lives.
Currently, I am slowing down with my photography studio offerings. I am in school full-time with Purdue Global, working hard to achieve a Bachelor's in Nutrition Science with a holistic concentration. I also love to fish, hunt, bake, and raise my chickens for the fresh eggs they provide. My husband is on active duty in the Army, and deployment has become a regular part of our lives. I also volunteer a great deal, working with various military-related organizations, which keeps me involved and still lets me work behind the lens. Volunteering to help our soldiers and their families is one of the best things we can do for them.
